Great place! All you can eat, small dishes great for sharing. Ordering from a tablet is super fun and helpful when you're an inexperienced sushi eater.

In principle, I like to go to the Okinii very often, because I think the price-performance ratio is right. Good sushi, nicely presented at an All You Can Eat price of around € 30 (depending on when you come). The drinks are quite expensive, but that's mostly the case with AYCE. Sometimes it takes a little longer for the sushi to be served, but that's the rule when you come at peak times. The staff has always been friendly. Last time we also ordered ToGo, unfortunately the order was either completely incomplete or mixed up. We paid 30 €, but we probably noticed a goods value of 10-15 € ... So ToGo will be less in the future, but recommended on site.

I'm honest, otherwise I never write reviews because I'm too lazy for that. I prefer to share my satisfaction with the staff. Several times we went to this restaurant to eat. During our visit on a Saturday evening, dishes were forgotten, drinks mixed up, just plain chaos. We had to keep asking until we were uncomfortable and we couldn't enjoy our food. The saddest thing was that there wasn't even an apology.

The food was delicious, the service very nice. I can't say anything about the toilets, I didn't use them. However, I found the drinks quite expensive.

Even now, the restaurant is dealing with the pandemic in an exemplary manner. The people who work there are motivated and friendly and the food is tasty and varied. That was definitely not the last visit there.

Very tasty and varied food. The service is attentive and friendly. The ambience is nice and there is enough space and hygiene measures to be able to eat corona-compliant. You should definitely make a reservation as it is always full.

After a long time back in Düsseldorf at Okinii and always the same. After about 15 minutes we had to ask if we could get a tablet and order it. Then you order dishes and they just come to the table after what feels like an eternity. So the Okinii in Essen is simply great, in everything (service, quality and atmosphere). Just a shame at the price.

I must be used to another standard. It was a huge disappointment! I do not recommend this place at all. Specially for people that know what sushi should taste like and what good service is. The dishes they served were tasteless, out of balance (waaayyyy to much rice everywhere!!) and some of them were plain old (like the shrimps!! old and mushy!! ) The sushi was rolled obviously by a very inexperienced "chef" (if you can call it that). The hand rolls looked horrible with again too much rice with rice sticking out of the rolls. And ALL of the other sushi rolls were again rolled with too much rice! The grilled salmon was a third smaller than the full slab shown in the previews/pictures. So you needed 3 orders to get the full salmon.. The cucumber was just that, tasteless sliced cucumber with no vinegar. They only poured some sesame seeds on top and called it a "dish" :( The soup came out without a spoon! Their service could use a lot of improvement as well. The staff would only put the plates at the very edge of the table and would not take empty plates away. Eventually we started stacking the plates to see how high they would go, and we literally had 2 stacks of 4/5 plates before they noticed! It was a terrible experience to be honest. The lighting was also horrible with white/blue LED's, the music was weird and inappropriate. There is so much wrong with this place it's an embarrassment calling this place a restaurant and serve food to the public. Food in Dusseldorf is normally of a much higher standard. I am never coming back to this place.

First of all, the online reservation was easy and problem-free. We were shown to our table by a very friendly waiter without waiting, he also took the time to explain the details of the all-you-can-eat offer to us, even though the shop was quite busy. The range on offer is not great, but it is definitely sufficient, the dishes were all at least satisfactory to excellent and arrived within a few minutes of ordering. The baked bananas and coconut balls are great, but unfortunately there was no ice cream for dessert. Our waiter that evening, Stefan, was always eager to help us and was even able to take care of us despite the hustle and bustle and rude, disrespectful, rebellious, antisocial corona regulation objectors at the next table, with whom he was much more professional than I could have ever done Fulfill a few small extra wishes quickly. Great service. The price is definitely steep, but in my opinion it is definitely worth a visit. One last suggestion for improvement: the music was almost soporific at times. A relaxed atmosphere is good, but a little more momentum in between wouldn't harm the playlist.

Worst Sushi ever!!!!!! this was the worst "all you can eat" I have ever experienced!!! the sushi rice was too sour, far too much vinegar!!! And the rice was too sticky. The sushi tasted like it was made that morning! All the other dishes were not hot and crispy when served. The beef dish was too salty, and the yakitori was really bad. The chicken was not tender.

The first time there the online reservation had worked great. Since we had not yet understood the concept of Okiniis and told the friendly waiter about this, we were introduced to the tray. After that everything went very quickly the meals were high quality, plentiful and tasty the waiters were friendly what more could you want?

So the 2nd time there and made the same experiences. All dishes came quickly but that was the problem. It was all lukewarm. The skewers are lukewarm and tough as if they were lying under a heat lamp forever, the breaded chicken is no longer warm and the breading is wobbly and soft The sushi rice is more like a paste and far from the original. If the Okini were a cheap fast food store, that would be ok. But even at Rewe, the freshly made is 100 times better. The service, always someone else, slapped the plate on the table with notes on it. So never again for the money and not for free either. The concept itself is great but not in this shop.

Have stayed at the Okinii 3 times so far and never disappointed with the food. If you can't get enough or can't find anything for yourself, you're in the wrong place. Great selection that is delivered quickly. You can always find something new or go back to the tried and tested (the lamb is awesome). There are usually four of us and we test everything across the board, you will not be disappointed. The fact that a bowl does not come can happen with the quantities. Don't fret, order again, you can't eat 25 servings anyway. Great value for money. If I read reviews about the service, they should work an hour in the restaurant. Corona is already enough stress. The fifth star is given if there is something new on the menu and it tastes again. We'd love to come back .

We discovered the Okinii by chance today while exploring Düsseldorf. Although we hadn't made a reservation and the restaurant was well attended, we got a table. The sushi, the homemade lemonades, as well as the other dishes were delicious (super sticky rice)! The staff was very nice, polite, attentive and yet reserved (food is placed on the table with the pad after ordering, as with the flying buffet). The ambience is modern and still family-friendly! The price / performance ratio is great! If we visit Düsseldorf again, we will definitely stop by for dinner!

The restaurant is spacious and the concept good. But the food isn't good, sushi are pasty and dry, the fish tasteless; same for the rest of the food like the gyoza or chicken teriyaki. Would not recommend, especially for the price, there are much better Japanese restaurants in Düsseldorf.

Great food and great service

Fortunately, we were still able to eat Sunday evening, even though we hadn't reserved a seat and it was worth it! I don't know of any restaurant that offers so many rich, delicious, Asian dishes.

Very nice shop and nice concept. Unfortunately, I miscalculated when ordering with the tablet, and so more and more dishes came to the table that I unfortunately couldn't eat. The waiter charged us only 5 euros "fine", which we found very accommodating. We'll be more careful next time, we promise.

Until now I have always been to the Okinii in the city and I always found everything to be great! To celebrate my birthday I wanted to eat at the Medienhafen and have to say that it is the most incompetent shop I have come across. It already failed with the reservation !! Since the online reservation did not contain the requested time, I wanted to reserve by phone. I tried to get someone on the phone for half a month, but to no avail. Then I left a mailbox with my reservation. To make sure that this was taken over, I went to the Medienhafen a week later. After 10 minutes of waiting, someone was so kind and welcomed us. During the waiting time I noticed that the staff is inexperienced and that the food would most likely not arrive at all. When it turned out that I hadn't taken over my reservation, I knew that I didn't want to eat here. After just trying to call Okinii in the city, someone answered and took my reservation. Why doesn't it work in the city center at the Medienhafen?

Went in alone on Sunday evening just after 8 pm. Saw the wait to be seated sign at entrance . It was not busy ! Waited for 10 mins. 2 staffs saw me whilst clearing the table just completely ignored me. Then I went closer to the bar and asked if I could have a table ! There was lots of empty tables around but they wanted me to sit by the bar to eat my dinner! I said to the waiter , there are lots of empty tables around and why can’t I sit at a table! He basically said WiFi not working well! Funny innit ! All the empty tables don’t have WiFi ! I saw many sitting next to all the empty tables. I have been to the one in cologne! But I will not be coming back to this one or anywhere of this franchise! I went across the road to a fusion Chinese restaurant with much better service ! Funny staff can make or break the restaurant businesses ! There are lots of choices these days and as a customer I do not have to put up with franchisees! Good luck with that !

Unmotivated annoyed staff, old Shrimps with dried sause, terrible sushi rolls, sushi rolls with canned tuna, weird music, and a bill of 75€ for 2 people. Knowing how Sushi should taste, this is an embarrassment.

Awesome sushi! We have been here several times and the quality is always on point. The ordering system is very intuitive and well organized. Every table gets a tablet to order their dishes, however only 5 pieces per person. Orders are available every 15 minutes, which prevents from just ordering and not eating. Additionally, a fee of 1-2 euros is charged for every leftover piece. To me, this is a really nice way to work against our "throw-away"-society and ensuring quality at the same time.

First and last visit there. We have to wait more than 45 minutes for first food to come. But it was nothing. They didn’t get us what we have ordered. We get the food from round 2. We get 2 dishes for 4 persons. Of course we talked about this fact with waitress but she don’t care. After few complains we get our food but we get all in one time. The idea of this restaurant is good but the execution of it is completely wrong. Did I mention that we get some food cold? And the waitresses were just sad and not helpful at all. Ah and we have to paid for all full price. The toilets were also really dirty. Really just go to other restaurant. Don’t waist your time, nerves and money.
